Assist was started in 1985 by Harry Hanbury and operates as a sole proprietorship in Naples, Florida.

Harry got started in computers in 1982, while working at the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, D.C. As a police academy instructor he used his personal computer to automate his record keeping. Soon he was commended by the Chief of Police for designing a system to automate the whole Training Division of the department. Harry began building computers for friends and family and developed a loyal following. Harry adopted the trade name ASSIST in 1985 to underline the focus on service in his new computer business. Since then he has built thousands of PCs for government, business, academia, and home users.

Harry retired from the Metropolitan Police Department in February of 1991 and became a resident of Naples in 1994. ASSIST was reborn as a Florida business and continues to serve the Naples market with top quality computer products and service.
